Sex and the City

Hey guys!

“Maybe our girlfriends are our soul mates and guys are just people to have fun with.”
-   Candace Bushnell, Sex and the City.

Sex and the City will always win hearts in terms of fashion, sex and most importantly the bond of four independent women living in the New York City. Well female friendship is a very complicated thing. Sometimes such relationships grow apart due to certain differences. In Sex and the City the relationship between four friends was not always perfect either, but they always supported each other at the end of the day. As Carrie said,

“Friendships don’t magically last forty years, you have to invest in them”.

They say two’s a company, and three’s a crowd, but in Sex and the City four’s an amazing slumber party with cool glasses of Cosmopolitan. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte are four women with very different personalities and choices.

Sex and the City dwell on dynamics of relationships, and they might not be picture perfect but still somehow seems to be. It teaches us that among all these relationships, the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself.

Just like Samantha had said, there is no harm for us to admit the fact too that,
“I love you but I love me more”.

The character which we find the most endearing and strong is Samantha’s. Her bold, confident attitude towards life and the men she used to date made an impact in every woman’s heart. As she said “Always look like you know where you’re going, even if you don’t”, is a perfect example of her personality. Her fearlessness attitude and the way she fought cancer shows the kind of a woman she is. We admire such strong personalities and want to be like them!

This show also brought forward some bitter truths of life, which everyone has in them to some extent. Well one can say it is just self realisation, however harsh it might seem!

We recommend everyone to watch the show, not only is the fact that it is very well written, it also brings out the optimistic and sassy nature everyone has within them!
Till then,

Hum chaddis badlenge, buddies nahi!

This post is dedicated to all our friends, because happy times or tough times, you all are special.
Hey guys!
What is friendship? It is said, friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more people.
We say, friendship is a relation that simply beats many blood relations! The same relation existing between all ages, gender, caste,  language, community, species etc; that is friendship. It does not come with terms and conditions. There is no range. And the best part, we get to choose our friends.

Let's go back to our school/college days!
Those tiffin breaks, between the class gossip, major discussions about the opposite gender, shoulders to cry on, getting punished together, screaming our lungs out during events, and being there for each other. They are not just memories; they make us what we are today! Everytime our heart broke to see a friend cry, and everytime we were pleased to make a friend smile, that is what friendship is about. When we leave an institution, most of the times what hurts is leaving behind the people we have spent amazing times with.
This post isn't about best friends or true friends or close friends. Every kind of friend plays a role in our lives. They make our stay a little more beautiful and worth it. It is one such attachment which makes even a term called romance (which has been overstated a lot) go weak at its knees!

The following video is a "Back to School" initiative/campaign by Pepsi India. It was uploaded on YouTube in the year 2014 and has more than 2 million views. This video depicts the term friendship in a beautiful way. It's about 4 friends, on their last day of school, reliving all their school memories. They keep going back in time and laugh about all the amazing memories they created. Sharing their food to sharing their laughter, it has all. The background music goes like " School khatam ho raha hai, dosti nahi" which is so so true. And they promise nothing will change ever.
Click below to watch the video:

So today, in honour of friendship's day and in honour of all wonderful friends we have, we decided to write this post. It's okay if the time is tough and complications are too many, we love our friends and we always will. No matter where you met them, in what way they created a difference, they are special. So go and thank your friends for being there in your lives. DO IT! They deserve it. :)
Till then Happy Blogging :D

The clock will start ticking soon!

Hey guys!
You all must be aware that the Indian television series '24' is back with season 2. Season 1 was a huge success. Anil Kapoor who plays the male lead in the show, had been featured in the American version of the same show. He bought the official rights to India. And this was the first time the show had been adapted from the American version. Season 1 aired from October to December 2013. This season revolved around the mission to save the country within just 24 hours. The genre was mostly political thrill. The concept was as appealing as the show.

The cast and their individual performances were praise worthy. The show hits every mark of excitement and precision from the very first minute. The show brings in a sense of thrill and heart gripping action sequences and crazy suspense with extremely well set locations and twists. The story was innovative with the "24 hour" deadline. But what sets the benchmark was the performance of the male lead Anil Kapoor who plays the anti terrorist unit agent, Jai Singh Rathod. The different roles he played throughout one single day were set apart from each other with sheer excellence. The role of the father, the role of the husband, the role of a loyal Indian citizen who has to save his country. They were all done with not only precision but with a sense of reality which kept us glued to this action packed series.

It is considered to be one of the most expensive TV shows ever produced in India. The show also aired in Australia.
The subplots and individual stories of all the characters were shown beautifully. The cast had major names like Mandira Bedi, Anita Raj, Ajinkya Deo, Neil Bhoopalam, Tisca Chopra etc with Anupam Kher and Shabana Azmi having important roles.

The show ended with a heart touching climax, but now is back with season 2. The shooting started in February 2016, and will telecast on Colors TV soon. The new season will mark the return of the previous cast with a similar story line, Some renowned actors like Ashish Vidyarthi, Sikander Kher, Sakshi Tanwar have joined the cast and have prominent roles in the show. Season 2 promises to be more stylish and daunting.
Eagerly waiting for it to launch, lets just hope it doesn't disappoint. The first look of the new season has already been released. Watch it below.

Make sure you don't miss the first episode because each episode counts. Till then

360 degree panorama!

Hey guys!

What if you could see what’s around you without having to move your neck? And what if we tell you that is possible! Yes you heard that right.

All you have to do is fit a camera that supports a 360 degree view. It is that simple.

360 degree videos are all the rage right now. It is a different form of storytelling. It is amazing to watch a video from different angles. The view is pretty epic and fun to watch. You need a special camera to capture the footage, as normal cameras cannot capture a wide field of view. The camera is not that cheap either. And creating and sharing the content is not easy. A 360 camera can also be created by arranging many cameras (like gopros) together in a manner that it can capture the panoramic view.

These videos are most fun to watch with a VR(virtual reality) headset. If you are into gaming, you are in for a treat. It won’t be very long when you’ll be able to take playing a game to the next level, like the Sony PlayStation VR. It is said that VR will change the future of the gaming world. 360 videos are being hyped today, to adopt the fast growing VR technology.

Since March, 2015 YouTube introduced 360 degree videos. Google wants VR to be accessible to everyone. So, watch the videos down below to understand this amazing technology. The quality is a little low right now, unless you watch them in really high resolutions. If you are watching them from your laptop or pc, you can tap and drag to get the entire view. Try watching them from your phone or tab, it is cooler that way, you just have to move your phone while watching.

Ever wondered how it feels like when you are paragliding?

Or watching Leonardo Dicaprio win the oscars?

Or enjoying a ride on a roller coaster!

Pretty amazing stuff going around, right? If you enjoyed them, you can watch other similar videos on YouTube. It is just the beginning of something spectacular! It is taking entertainment and our viewing experience to the next level. Till then

Moma ka purse jaise hospital ki pyaari si nurse!

Hey guys!

Recently we came across an article, which rumoured the sequel of a cult show, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. That excitement majorly led to this post.
This show DOES NOT NEED AN INTRODUCTION. It entered the Indian television with a whiff of fresh air, that made all the age groups hooked to this show, for the short time it ran. While the already existing sitcoms were about all the 'saas-bahu' drama, this show brought a sign of relief for the viewers.

The witty jokes, sarcastic punches, lame comedy, and class apart acting by all the characters in the show, made it stand out.
This episode wise sitcom was a major favourite. It started in the year 2004 and ended in 2006. It has been rated 9.4 by IMDb and has received positive responses throughout.

Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was about an upper class family residing in Mumbai. The characters were set apart by their weird and unique features and one could actually relate to each one of them.

Each episode had a new story but the common theme in this sitcom gained a lot of popularity. The mother-in-law taunting her daughter-in-law, for her typical middle class behavior.

The younger son of the house being his mom's absolute favourite. While the elder son was always asked to choose sides. The father supported his daughter-in-law throughout. This story can be easily related to any Indian family. But how they used these relations to bring about the sophisticated magic in the show, was the major highlight.

What we loved:
Every 'rhyming' poem Rosesh made.
Everytime Maya called Monisha middle-class.
Everytime Monisha bargained.
Everytime Indravadan made fun of Rosesh. Forever neutral Sahil.
Everytime Madhusudan misinterpreted things for his hearing difficulty.
And last but not the least the major technician Dushyant!
We know these are facts that all you guys must be aware of. Also these are generic favourites. But this post was to revive all the love and excitement we had/have for this show.

Let's just pray there is a sequel.. And we would suggest you guys to go and watch all the 69 episodes again. (We will do the same)
Thank you for reading. We have made a little change in our blog. So check it out. We are going to come up with something different in the next blog. Till then

Does love really have a gender?

Hey guys!

In the recent times, we have witnessed that more people are accepting and understanding the rights of the LGBT community. People are waking up and spreading this positive vibe with everyone. There are many changes being made across the world. However, this is a very small fraction of people involved in trying to make the world a better place for everyone to live in!

LGBT community has widened all over the world. There are few countries where same-sex marriage is recognised. But there are also many countries, where any kind of involvement between same-sexes might lead one to lifelong imprisonment or worse, death penalty.

In India, people face legal and social difficulties not experienced by non-LGBT persons. Sexual activity between people of the same gender is illegal and is punishable by incarceration.

There may be many good changes happening, but people of the LGBT community still face many problems. The hardships a person of this community go through is beyond words and an extremely difficult thing to understand by a non-LGBT person. This leads to many unhappy lives, and suicides. So, in respect to this article, today we have a beautiful, heartwarming yet a depressing story for you guys.

This is a trilogy from the album Blue Neighbourhood by Troye Sivan. Troye Sivan started out doing Youtube videos, which made him famous in the Youtube community. He has always been open about being gay in nature. He even released a coming out video in his channel. We admire the courage of such brave people. These three videos are actually three songs sung by him. The songs are beautiful too. So please watch them

We hope that everyone liked the videos, and found the story and the songs appealing. And spread the love folks, with everyone you know. :)

Dial H for Hitchcock

Hey guys!

Imagine a situation...
You're sitting tight, straight, shivers running down your spine, a trickle of sweat about to fall off your forehead, slow steady breath of unexpected suspense? Then you must be watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Popularly known as the Master of Suspense, Hitchcock has stunned the world with his spine chilling suspense thriller. His movies came as a new wave hunting not only on the psychological aspect of a human existence but also covering the darkest desires and the hidden truth that a kind usually fails to read or perceive. His simplicity in cinematic technique and his straight forward middle class English approach brought him unprecedented glory. He was greatly influenced by his precursors Charlie Chaplin and Carol Reed.

Some of his most popularly known films are Dial M for Murder, North by Northwest, Rear  Window, Psycho, Vertigo and Birds. The best way to know Hitchcock is only through his movies and to conclude with a little bit of humour from the man himself.

Psycho is considered one of Hitchcock's best films and is highly praised by international film critics and scholars. Released in 1960, the film revolves around a lady who enters a motel and the motel's disturbed owner/manager. What follows is suspense, violence, black comedy. It's themes were revealed by the use of birds, eyes, hands, mirrors. It was remade in 1998.

Birds, released in the year 1963, focuses on a series of strange and violent bird attacks on the people of Bodega Bay, California over a few days. Hitchcock almost turned Birds into some of the most terrifying villains. It was also termed as the last unflawed Hitchcock movie, by critics. The film's technical aspect is praise worthy, espcially in the closing scene. Birds in this movie were considered to be threatening forces to humanity.

Rear Window is a 1954 Hitchcock movie based on a 1942 short story. This film is considered to be Hitchcock's best. It received crazy amount of positive responses. It was called a "tense and exciting exercise". It's about a photographer who is confined to a wheelchair and the imprisoning effects of marriage. The film was entirely confined on one set built at Paramount Studios.

There are too many other movies which were absolute masterpieces. So, don't waste time guys. Go watch all. Make it a thriller week/weekend for yourselves.
We want to thank Samudra Gupta for his invaluable input towards this post :)

Bring the change!

Hey guys!

Today we have a fun and informative video for you guys. This is an East India Comedy video on sex education in India.. If you haven’t watched the video yet, please do! You won’t regret it.

Click on the image to watch the video.

This video portrays a hilarious take on a very serious issue of the 21st century “sex education”. Well, we all know the basic meaning of sex education, right? It is a concept concerned with human sexuality, which includes human sexual anatomy, sexual activities, sexual  reproduction, safe sex , birth control etc.

This is an important concern of today’s world because people still consider the word “sex “ , a taboo. In India, the country where kamasutra was born, the country where we see many such visuals drawn in temples and being the second most populated country in the world, it is very sad to admit that an individual talking about sex openly is not considered a respectful thing.

But, why are we scared to talk about sex?

Many say, sex is something very obscene, and it teaches children about sex related details at a very young age. This is a misconception again. Sex education is about teaching some very important aspects of sex, how someone can control birth, about various diseases like Aids which comes with it and how to prevent them.

There are others saying , India is a country with traditions, morals, sanctity and culture. So it is best to avoid it, and it is an education which is only needed in the West.
People somehow forget India is the second most populated country in the world. It is a country with one of the highest rate of teenage pregnancy and infection of various sexually transmitted diseases. This is because of the lack of education and ignorance about it’s importance.

We hope someday, people understand the importance of sex education as it is explained in the video. EIC has made an amazing video which deserves a lot of applause for the effort they have made to reach out to the masses. But there are very few of us who know about it. So , please share the video and our post if you liked it.
THE VIDEO IS A MUST WATCH!
We expect your feedback in the comments section.

Why DIL TO PAGAL HAI should have won more hearts than it did!

" SOMEONE SOMEWHERE IS MADE FOR YOU "

FOR ALL THE TEENS OUT THERE :)

Hey guys!

In the year 1997 came a movie, which made youngsters fall in love with the essence of dancing. The movie halls were filled with audiences who almost shook their legs to every song.
DIL TO PAGAL HAI  was the movie and it swept away awards and hearts of teenagers. Critics called it a portrait of a newly prosperous India, in rainbow colours. It has also been listed as one of the top 10 Yash Chopra films.

But why top 10? We personally feel it was one of the best. While Indians were made to believe that the movie screamed dancing and love, we believe it screamed friendship. Bollywood gave us movies like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani , Sholay, Dil Chahta Hai. They took friendship to a different level altogether. However the purest form of a relation in terms of friendship, was beautifully depicted throughout this movie.

Why we say so? Not because we are biased towards SRK or the movie, but because Dil To Pagal Hai showed real life bonds. Two close friends, shared their mutual love for dancing. Nisha ( Karishma Kapoor) and Rahul ( Shahrukh Khan). While Nisha was in love with him, he cared for her beyond words. While she was the expressive kind,  his humour won her heart. However he did fall in love, but not with her. It broke her heart but friendship won at the end. Yes he knew she loved him, but that’s how love is. It just happens! She stood for him till the end like a TRUE friend. That’s what friendship is all about, right?

And then there was Pooja ( Madhuri Dixit) who believed in destiny and the guy of her dreams. Agreed to marry her friend Ajay ( Akshay Kumar),even though she was in love with someone else. The very last scene of the movie showed how Ajay helped her win the guy of her dreams, and not sacrifice her love for anybody! Friendship goals, hmm!

For the ones who have watched the movie, remember the scene where Nisha confesses her love to Rahul, post a party? Cheesy, yes. Why we loved the scene? Because she poured out her heart to a friend.Probably she knew he wouldn’t reciprocate. Even then she expressed herself, in an honest way!The easiest thing there, she was saying that to a friend, her best friend.
Click on the image below to view the video.

Again, the scene near the lake, where Nisha and Rahul were conversing. It’s a heart touching scene where they talk about their unfulfilled love. Real life much right?
Click on the image below to view the video

We could have mentioned the love part. We could have mentioned about how Rahul and Pooja fell in love and how their love story was the background of the movie! But doesn’t Bollywood deal with that in almost every movie. There is always a happy ending to a love story. But amidst such happy endings, there is unreciprocated love, broken hearts and major friendship bonds.

We can't expect bad acting when it’s a movie with three amazing stars. It wasn’t hyped like many other movies. We have friends who literally commented something like “ I don’t remember the movie much, because I danced throughout in the hall I guess” :’D
Well this movie all we can say, is relatable!

For the ones who haven’t watched the movie yet, PLEASE WATCH. And for the ones who have, WATCH AGAIN! We expect your feedback in the comments section. And your ideas for the next video is welcome :D
For the ones who aren't Bollywood buffs, wait for the next post ;)
